Heady Stuff For A Humble Scribe

I just wanted to say thank you.

Thank you to all who comment, or just merely read and pass on what I post.

One year ago my visitors for July reached dizzy heights. 681 of you popped in for a read. And I was mighty pleased.

Look at you now! This July we broke records together. Over 10,000 swung by. I am extremely happy.

(Click for bigulation).

I imagine a sizeable number are people who think I am a slow-motion car crash. Time will tell!

For those of you who visit, and keep on visiting, and particularly all those guys and gals who leave comments-good or bad-I owe you a debt. Without you Ranty Barracks would be a "transmit only" site.

Thank you for making it a two-way street.

Oh, and a special thanks to those who link to me. You know who you are, but I will produce a list if you demand it. Prominence on your blogs points a great many people over here. You might say that "I have seen far because I stood on the shoulders of giants". Without you guys, fewer would know that this blog even existed. Multo grazie!

BTW, I joined the Twitterati. If enough of you are interested, and I get some followers, I will bung out tweets to let you know when a new post is up. That, or meaningless guff. Click on the big button at the top left of the blog.

Be well,

CR.

I bigulated your graph and I am pleased to see that your readership has been so engrossulated over the last year.
Personally having 'come of age' in the 60s, I know I was a bit over-idealistic then, but after a life of working I find I am now retiring into a society that has devalued and derided all those values of mutual respect, opportunity, tolerance and personal freedom that I once aspired to.
I would guess quite a few people of my age are feeling seriously rebellious again.

It's a great blogging community, H.

I think that together we present more opposition than TPTB give us credit for.

Sometimes it's like herding cats though. We all want different things.

I think congratulations are in order Captain. I can see you've put a lot of effort in and for that you've reaped the reward.

I know what you mean about it being like herding cats. Surely the aim is to find the fundamentals about which we can all agree. So many 'ideas' that are in the political domain are a result of the manipulation of the PTB. Remove that manipulation and there's a much greater chance of their being some sort of agreement amongst us.

What I mean by fundamentals are issues around the constitution; the 'system of fundamental laws and principles that prescribes the nature, functions, and limits of a government.' A true government (administration?) of the people, by the people and for the people. Included in this would be a new monetary system that recognised our sovereign right to create our own money free from interest.

Once the 'scientific manipulation of our reality' has been stopped we could discuss how the capitalism of today is really cartelism or monopoly capitalism. A system that hates and tries to avoid at all costs true free trade. We could also discuss how socialism, though perhaps an understandable attempt to help the poor of society, is really just another control system that will inevitably fall to corruption and manipulation. We can explore new ideas and investigate how the new monetary system with its vastly reduced need for taxation will automatically help the poor.

You get the idea.

Keep posting, thinking and discovering. Between us all I'm sure we'll find a way to a life free from these criminals and psychopaths.

Thanks Harry!

To be honest, a great deal of the stuff I put up is nicked from elsewhere.

Which only goes to prove what you are saying: once we have enough knowledge, between us we will be able to find a way forward. I know that one of your recurring questions is: "Yeah, but what do we replace it with?". And that requires a great deal of thought, sensitivity, and wisdom. I have none of those attributes.

All I can do is articulate. That, and maybe throw myself at the beast and see what happens.

I'll keep posting if you keep reading & commenting.

Deal?

CR,
Recognising the truth and passing it on in a memorable manner is a rare skill which you undoubtedly have. Don't let modesty stop you (g).

It is a form of leadership. As they say in the army, nice fellows are two a penny, decisive leaders are priceless.

You are too kind.
