Is The Euro Dead?

The Germans certainly think so.

When the euro dies, the EU will follow swiftly.

Let us pray, brothers and sisters, for an early, but sudden death.

Let us pray brothers and sisters;

Eyes down for an empty house (bank) may the good sky pixie who gave us little apples show its benificence and crush utterly beneath its contemptuous heel that mark of satan known as the Euro...

congregation answer;
may it so come to pass...

and may the great sky pixie deposit ordure on the heads and livelihoods of those who have bled the faithful dry, by manipulating said Euro in their own favour

cong. answer;
hear our prayer o great sky pixie...

and may the unelected worms that feasted on the flesh and blood of the faithful choke and wither away on their illegal gotten gains...

cong.;
hear our prayers and visit hell and damnation upon them OGSP...

and when the edifice falleth, let not one stone be left upon another to mark where it once stood and stole from the faithful...

cong.;
Let it be so...Oh we implore you letit be so...

There will be a big party,when the E.U. comes crashing down around Barroso's feet.

Can we have a Downing Street party? Maybe a bonfire, or two - perchance burn a few treasonous politicians.

We could all put on Ted Heath Masks, a la Guido.

Sorry, excitement got the better of me. Carry on.

I'll pray to whatever head honcho of whatever cult you wish me to.

Please let the whole lot come down, preferably with all of the self-appointed Hitlers and Mussolinis, quislings, traitors, and smug self-serving scumbag politicians under the rubble.

Don't all hold your breath. My prediction if the Euro fails is that there will be some who'll say something like this:

'See? This is why we need real political integration. If there had been a federal Europe the Euro wouldn't have failed. Therefore we should use the Lisbon Constitreaty to its fullest and create a fully integrated and unified European federal state within the next couple of year, after which we can reintroduce the single currency.'

The annoying thing is they might actually be right as far as the currency goes. The Yanks united the colonies before they created the dollar, which is still here. The EU did it the other way round because they saw a softer route to political integration that way, and it seems like it's not going to turn out the way they hoped. Fucking good if you ask me, but don't go thinking if the Euro does go tits up the bastards will roll over and you'll have won. It'll just be trotted out as another reason why a federal Europe would be A Good Thing, and if those who oppose it have gone to sleep you could have a federal Europe before you know it. If it was a United States of Europe along the lines of 'We hold these truths to be self-evident etc etc' but lived the words rather better than recent American governments it mightn't be a bad thing, but of course we all know what it'd actually be like.

According to my recent researches in Greece, the Euro is not exactly held in high regard!

SPIV....

Quick ,quick ,print comical toilet rolls where each sheet is a 5 Eoru bill.
Let's do it ,you know you want too.

It would be ruddy lovely if something as simple as the entire currency would free us... but I suspect the corrupt elite would actually use it to force us into the even bigger project rather sooner.

Howe many cashless SDRs for 1 Euro? How many cashless SDRs for 1 GBP?

I'll happily join the prayer circle, however.

I'm slightly more atheist than Richard Dawkins, but would pray to any and every sky-pilot of your choosing if it helps.
I'm sceptical that the Euro collapse would automatically lead to the downfall of the EU - Common Purpose just would not allow all their work to go to waste.
But let's be optimnistic, eh ...

optimnistic .... I blame the rather good red, of which I'm into the third glass now.

Odd. Blogger lost my comment I posted after the second Anon. Since it was about the EU's Plan B in the event that the Euro did fail I wonder if someone's watching and mmmmm mmmmmmmm mmmmm mm mmmmm mm mmmmmmmm mmm mmm mmmmm if I do it again. :-)

Seriously, don't hold your breath. If the single currency goes the cries will go up:

Ah, it wouldn't have failed if only we'd had real political integration. We must use the Lisbon Treaty to bring this about ASAP, preferably within the next couple of years, maybe 2015 at the latest.

In a twisted way they'd be right. The Yanks united the colonies first and created the dollar later. Here in Oz they had the pound and then the Aussie pound which was tied to Sterling long after Federation of the colonies in 1901. The Aussie dollar came along more than sixty years afterwards, I believe. That suggests that union first, then currency is the sensible way of doing it, and you can be sure some bastard will use it to try and drive the EU further towards being a true Union. This wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing if it was going to be a strong states being deferred to by the federal government and with a "we hold these truths to be self evident etc etc" philosophy at its core, only much more so than the Yanks have been of late. Of course we all know what kind of federation we'd actually get, so for Christ's sake let's not go to sleep if the Euro does fail. It doesn't mean the end of the EU project, not by a fucking long way.

Hey, Cap'n Ranty. Blogger is eating my comments. Possibly because I've put a link in to an image (not a rude one) and because Blogger's spam checking isn't very bright maybe they've been classified as iffy chucked in your spam folder. Have a butcher's when you get a chance, will you? If they're not there I really will start getting paranoid.

Indyanhat, must be the link rather than the words. The bit that says "we know what kind of a federation we'd actually get" linked to a picture of a very Soviet era design but in EU blue and gold with EUSSR at the bottom. Fucking Blogger.

Good riddance if it happens but since when did the EvilEU ever take any notice of referenda?

Yep agree with you fully. The EU leadership are a bunch of Marxist thugs and their plan for the total control of all Europe and indeed the whole world through the bankers, the 13 so called elitists families, and their government lackeys are done, we have rumbled their master plan which is being taken apart as we speak.

Lets get back to individual sovereignty, peace and the well being of every single human being on this planet and indeed elsewhere.
