Friday Funny With Rowley Birkin QC

I dearly loved The Fast Show. I may have cried a little when the series ended.

One of the reasons I loved it was the regular Rowley Birkin sketches.

Have this one to brighten up your Friday:

Ah, good old Rowley. One of the funniest things on The Fast Show. The one where he did the inexplicable submarine impersonation was my favourite, closely followed by the one from the very last episode. Good choice, Cap'n.

Fuck!

I was torn. I wanted to use the submarine one.

I'll put it up next time.

Off to West Africa again tomorrow morning, so video clips will be missing until I get back. I can't view them and usually I like to before bunging them on here.

We have all the Fast Show series but they are on VHS. I don't have a VHS player any more.

It's Doovde's all the way at Ranty Barracks.

Having just got back from Egypt, and seeing this just creased me up.
Then you put up some short sighted bloke who forgot what his tuba looked like.
Safe journey CR.

Thanks Morgan.

How was Egypt then?

Mind blowing.
Went from one extreme to another, ie, Sharm Elshikh to Cairo then on into Jordan.
The one thing that was prevalent is how tuned in most are.
I now understand a lot more about the people, who were so friendly and in most cases helpful.
Cairo, fuck me, the half built city. All because if they complete them, they have to pay taxes.
Still have a large military presence in the centre of the city as they still have spontaneous protests.
Sitting at the bars smoking my head of without anyone looking at you as if you have some kind of mental illness. Heaven..
Spoke to one Egyptian at lenth on certain issues, which he understood. After, we parted good friends.
Luckily I never lost any fingers, but then again you only need two to stick up to certain people.

Be well CR, and again have a safe journey.

Excellent!

I am really pleased you had a good time Morgan.

It wears me out listening to fuckwits bang on about "raghead this" and "raghead that" when it is obvious they never met an Arab in their entire lives. Ordinary Arabs are great people. Very welcoming and very friendly.

They are all tarred because a tiny percentage of them want to adhere to half a dozen lines (taken out of context) in the Koran.

Most just want what we want: peace and quiet and the opportunity to support their families.

Thanks again for your good wishes.

I went with a open mind, as someone who had never being out of Europe in my life.
All are entitled to be respected, and to be equal.
Religion has no influence in my thoughts.
Travel is something that broadens the mind. Meeting different people makes you less likely to pre-judge.
Divide and rule, is the mantra.
When this is broken, their hold on all will be finished.
The only education given to our children and grandchildren does not allow for freedom of thought.
Sad but true.
I am so glad you never rescinded your blog.
You opened another aspect in the way to think.
Always look for the good, not the bad, then you have truely made it.
