2012: The Year Of The Rebel

This year my campaign will intensify.

I have picked several fights with your government and they will draw to a conclusion, one way or the other.

If you need a little inspiration, and reassurance that you are not alone, I am posting this song again in the hope that it may fire you up a little bit.

Sing along. Let the words enter your consciousness and know that there is an answer. I am all out of rainbows and pixie dust, and instead I will lead by example with the elements we all possess: determination, stamina, and righteous anger. We are being screwed daily, and I am tired of being treated this way.

"Once an honest man could go from sunrise to its set
without encountering agents of his state or government.

But a sorry cloud of tyranny has fallen across the land,
brought on by the hollow men,
who did not understand that for centuries our forefathers have fought
and often died to keep themselves unto themselves, to fight the rising tide,
and that if in the smallest battles we surrender to the state,
we enter in a darkness whence we never shall escape.

Watt Tyler led the people in 1381 to meet the king at Smithfield
and issue this demand:
that Winchesters should be the only law across the land,
the law of old King Alfreds time, of free and honest men.

Because the people then they understood what we have since forgot:
that governments will only work for their own benefit.
And I'd rather stand up naked against the elements alone
than give the hollow men the right to enter in my home.

When they raise their hands up our lives to possess,
to know our souls, to drag us down, we'll resist.

Stand up sons of liberty and fight for what you own.
Stand up sons of liberty and fight, fight for your homes.
So if ever a man should ask you for your business, or your name,
tell him to go and fuck himself, tell his friends to do the same.

Because a man who'd trade his liberty for a safe and dreamless sleep
doesn't deserve the both of them, and neither shall he keep"

There are other songs out there, but this one floats my boat.

It reminds me, it refreshes my outrage, and it serves to renew my focus.

Make 2012 the year you fought back.

It is not as difficult as you may think.

Slainte,

CR.

Nice, CR. Excellent tune!

I'm listening to this and dancing 'round in a living-room into which no agent of the state shall ever enter.

Happy New Year to all.
2012 is the year of the people... the Mayans said so ;)

This must be the year that all freedom loving rebels join forces in a critical mass and bring the quislings to trial in a Court of the People:

We are on the move...

Oh the irony. A song by old Etonian Frank turner, son of old Etonian and investment banker Roger Turner.

Scraping the barrel Anon?

I went to public school myself.

For everyone else's benefit, Frank won a scholarship to go to Eton.

From Wiki:

"Turner was educated on a scholarship at Eton College, where he studied alongside Prince William,[2] and later went on to attend the London School of Economics where he read History. His father Roger Turner, is the son of Sir Mark Turner, formerly chairman of high street retailer BHS, and had himself also attended Eton before becoming a City investment banker, while his mother, Jane, the daughter of a bishop, is a primary school headmistress."

Sounds slightly different from the character assassination above.

But I would not have said it was ironic.

I guess in your world people are not allowed to wake up or change their minds?

Nice.

Nice put down Captain. Funny how the left think that the underclass/working class should go to the top public schools, to the point of forcing them to take any old thicko as long as they are part of a 'victim' group, yet they slag off anyone who went there.

Their thinking is totally warped but they're too stupid and brainwashed to see themselves for what they are.
