Ranty Elsewhere

That is to say, I have scribbled a piece for Orphans of Liberty.

The language will be familiar to my faithful few, but if you are new to this blog, it may help you to separate Freemen from Lawful Rebels.

They are different things and they need separating.

Although, just to confuse you, I am both.

Check it out. Let me know what you think. (At the other place).

CR.

  1. I'll check in with orphans of liberty. But not often I think. Too much doom and gloom really isn't good for emotional health. Some fun really would be good and I mean anything other than politics sometimes.

  2. Just read the article Cap'n. Would have replied on the article but I don't have a contact email (at the mo).
As usual from what I've come to expect - poignant and straight to the point.

    Nice one

  3. I read your post and liked it although I do believe the madge did reply to the petition.

The comment she made was an interesting one.
The Queen is "well aware of the strength of feeling" and "continues to give this issue her closest attention" confirmed through her mouth piece private secretary, Sir Robin Janvrin.

The peers' petition was raised under clause 61 of Magna Carta, which had not been invoked for over 300 years. It gave the monarch 40 days to reply. Sir Robin's letter was written 39 days after receipt of the petition at the Palace.

"Sir Robin's timing is clear acknowledgement that Magna Carta has force to this day", said a spokesman for Sanity (Subjects Against the Nice TreatY), the direct action group which organised the petition with Lord Ashbourne.

  7. F***W*T,

If the others are anything like me they will want to make their first article punchy.

I think the first wave will be "attention getters".

I will post humorous items when we all get settled in.

  9. Phil,

    Thanks for that.

I should have used it in the post. It may have helped avert some of the negativity.

  14. Hi, CR

I think I've read before that the question of who owns land and how is very vexed. After all the money I've paid I'd have thought we own our house as we own our TV, but in that case nobody should have the right to turf us off, e.g. with a Compulsory Purchase Order.

I suppose that the terminus of your line of argument is that you have what you're willing to fight for - which is how the country changed hands in 1066.

Is it simply that might makes right?

  15. Some time later I come across this - the original post:

"They are different things and they need separating.

    Very amusing.

  17. Sackerson,

    Good to see you here.

Yes, they have all the guns. Some of them aren't made of metal and some of them don't have bullets.

They rule by force so yes, might (in their minds) makes right.

    Unless, of course, we resist.

  18. TT,

It was tricky boiling it all down to a couple of paragraphs for Orphans.

There are over 600 posts here and most of the evidence lies within them. I say most because I am lucky to have some very bright co-conspirators and they have weighed in with their own evidence.

It has been a fascinating journey so far.

It is made more enjoyable by having such good trek-mates.
