  4. I imagine so Harry.

In the army the more incompetent you were, the faster you rose through the ranks.

The Fuzz are probably no different.

  5. I think your very valid point was well enough illustrated without the references to those officers not yet (and I stress yet) convicted of the offences with which they have been charged.

    Presumption of innocence, anyone?

  6. Anon,

We are no longer "presumed innocent".

Now that we are part of the EU our old laws do not apply here. We are now presumed guilty.

The onus is on us to prove our innocence.

The game has changed. Keep up! :)

  7. And is this just the tip of the iceberg? No wonder they're called the filth, is there anyone left who has any respect for these arseholes?

Capt. this alone should have caused an uprising:

"We are no longer presumed innocent.
Now that we are part of the EU our old laws do not apply here. We are now presumed guilty.
The onus is on us to prove our innocence."

  8. I think they are a wonderful force doing their best in very trying circumstances. They may have to get nasty when all the civil disobedience kicks off, with all those scruffy cunts with no jobs. You'll be pleased they're there then!

  9. DL,

They used to be wonderful. They used to live by their oath to keep the peace. They used to be courteous.

    Something changed them.

Now they are revenue collection agents for their masters. And don't kid yourself that they are there to protect and serve us. They are not. They take an oath to protect and serve the crown.

We are just the cattle they have to prod, beat up, or sometimes kill.

Most of my life I thought exactly as you did. Not any more.

If I was allowed to carry a gun I could cheerfully defend myself. I can keep the peace all on my own. I can defend me and mine and if everyone else does the same we will be a-okay.

Watching armed thugs kettling teenagers is not an impressive sight. There is no bravery involved. Not when you have all the weapons and your opponents have none.

  10. “I think your very valid point was well enough illustrated without the references to those officers not yet (and I stress yet) convicted of the offences with which they have been charged.”

Translation: You don’t know who’s in the role your trouser leg up/funny handshake/ Jahbulon club and will be found innocent.

    Only joking…

    “Presumption of innocence, anyone?”

    Is a very fair point.

However (and with no reference to the cases above) you’ll have to forgive me if, in the aftermath of Ian Tomlinson, I remain a little cynical regarding the balance of the scales of justice as for our boys in, erm, black.

  11. Yo Capitan,

The cops here in sunny Nottingham have a terrible reputation, passing on information to gangsters, resulting in a middle aged couple being murdered in revenge for starters, beatings, frauds, incompetence, lies, they`re constantly in the local paper for some misdeed, no one trusts them.

  12. Steven,

    Your last sentence nails it.

Over 1100 people have died in police custody in the last ten years.

    1100 deaths.

    Zero convictions.

    Nuff said?

    CR.

  13. Stan,

They give us no reason to trust them.

They are mostly on the side of the bad guys.

    As are the courts.
