  1. Yeah, didn't you see the UK's Channel 4 News last night, Cap? It was 'cos the dumb birds drank some poisoned water or booze or summat.... what? There were other animals popping off too? Fuck..... er....

Watched an interesting documentary on Nicolai Tesla the other night, then some stuff on The Tap blog about HAARP which was intersting....

Then there's the possibility of a kind of bird flu of course...

I could go on. But someone might call me nuts. You know, like it's nuts for me not to think a few birds got a bit pissed up one afternoon....

  2. It's always happened, but now the media have reported on one story, it's ongoing, and so all outlets are looking for the next 'mysterious' group death.

Seriously, I bet this isn't even unusual. Probably happened last year, and the year before that, without the media noticing or thinking it newsworthy.

  3. Well, the question was genuine, so thanks for your answers Julia and JB.

I cannot recall seeing a list as long nor as widespread as the one up there.

Given the fact that there are trillions upon trillions of animals roaming the planet, the loss of a million or so in a few weeks could surely be considered normal?

  4. Also, as far as the birds go, although it may very well effect other animals too, is the fact that magnetic north is slipping a little towards Russia, if memory serve me right, causing a number of problems at some US airports.

Now, if as is thought by some, that birds "see the magenic field lines" allowing to make their migratory journey, maybe, the lines are shifting and screwing up there internal navigation system and thereby leaving them stranded, or off course amongst other things.

    Just a thought.

  5. CR: When does the story appear about the mass death amongst our present politicians? Could you possibly look a tad harder, just in case? Please?

  6. Julia has it. Just like the 'reported crime' bollocks used to justify some ACPO outfits existence.

Loads of frogs died in some South American country in October or November last year. Scientists were appalled and set off looking for a cause. Trouble is they never asked the locals until oodles of cash had been spent.

The locals informed them that it happens 'every few years' so is nothing to worry about.

To me its all just part of the ongoing gargantuan obfuscation process that the MSM teh world over is engaged in.

Russian ships trapped in ice that has frozen to the sea bottom doesn't even get a mention in the MSM. Nearly 400 of the poor bastards trapped and a prolonged rescue effort underway with two superb pieces of Russian engineering the Krasin and the Admiral Makarov.

Barry Obummer cosies up to France and it hits the front page of the online fail. Next day, after 7000 comments its moved off the front page and hidden.

Now e have the institute of engineers, of all people, warning that the human population will kill the earth by 2045 and some poor bastards who lost their little three year old to flu (maybe swine maybe seasonal who really knows and extremely sad) but this family is used by the MSM and the pharma profession to argue that ALL kids should be vaccinated.

It's a ceaseless round of lies and manipulation designed to keep everyone confused and as many as possible scared shitless about something whilst at the same time making sure snippets of real news are lost in the morass.

    Complete waste of time IMHO.
    Rant over.

On an entirely different tack, sorry Ranty, I've been trying to get my head around this little lot for most of the day. I think I've got a handle on some of it but by no means all but what is clear it blows all AGW arguments out of the water.

And no none of this is in the MSM either!!

  8. Flippin' heck Will, it's morning here and after shovelling the drive for the 3rd soddin time this morning, maybe now was not the best time to tackle that particular link!

The coffee is on, then I'm gonna try again....

  9. William: And you expect the MSM to report on that?

You are awake, I assume? (no offence)

Yes I am awake but my brain hurts from trying to figure out the Watts up page which is why my attempt at irony was pathetic.

I've come to the conclusion that people like Huhne and Milliband the younger need sending to the The Sea of Okhotsk to help the Russians without a 'fleecy'. They shouldn't last more than a few minutes.

  11. William: My original question was obviously made "tongue in cheek" as Ihope you realise......

All for your latest suggestion, though! With your permission we need to add a few more to the passenger manifest......?

    Gotcha

The Allure of the Seas (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e1/Allure_of_the_seas_sideview.JPG) can carry 6,296 warmists politicians, MSMists and bankers and is thin hulled.
What we need to do is get them out there on some spoof Cancun like conference at the right time of year (Christmas 2011 or New Year) and then bribe the Russians to have all their icebreakers 'otherwise engaged' for the 'holiday period' and then the world really would be a better place.

With apologies once again to the good Captain for taking his thread into different waters.

  14. It was the Lizard people who got to the Egyptians, then the Jews saw a chance for marketing . .

Does anyone know how many insects died today? Could be a scare story there.
