The BP Oil Spill Explained...Differently

Another video. If you are not a fan of videos I apologise. I'd transcribe it for you but I have neither the time nor the will.

In this one Stefan Molyneux strikes a rich seam of common sense. In it, he explains, governments have done us no favours. Ever.

He takes us back a year to investigate who is responsible for the Macondo blowout. Tony Hayward will be pleased to hear that someone else has to shoulder some of the blame. Barry O'Bama, on the other hand, may not be too happy with the surprising points Stefan makes.

The conclusion is wonderful. For me, at least, but I suspect fellow anarchists will smile too.

Have a butchers.

  1. Nice video.
You are right the conclusion is brilliant - "5000 years people have been trying to use the guns of the government to create a great world, 5001, 5002, 5003 is not going to make a damned bit of difference?"

I would classify myself as a Libertarian-Nationalist-Anarchist - that is someone who believe 100% in liberty; someone who believes in the right of indigenous peoples to have their own communities and to protect their own culture and traditions from alien ones; and someone who believes that we don't need central government but instead local elected public servants who will do the job of making sure the wealth is distributed evenly within the town/village/city but having no higher status than that of a carpenter or plumber and most probably on a smaller wage. In fact, even better idea would be that all people within the community would give up part of their time and take turns of being involved in local government.

My seeing myself as a Libertarian-Nationalist-Anarchist has come after much deliberation. I cannot classify myself as purely one or the other.

Our society will only be made right again once politicians are removed fully from society and government no longer is. By electing politicians we give them power and with power comes responsibilities of which they have discarded.

  3. Exactly H.

It is like repeating the same failed experiment and expecting different results.

The only people for whom the experiment of government fails is us, the people. For those in the Westminster Bubble it represents their chance to grow fat on the work of others. They produce nothing but waste. It's axiomatic. Without them we would quickly find alternative methods. And we would save a fortune in the process.

It will only end when we say it must. The frightening thing is that we are deliberately educated badly so that what we see we accept.

Some days I want to travel to every household and slap everybody awake.

Not that I am arrogant enough to pretend that I alone have the answer, more to awaken them to the possibility that another reality is available.

Otherwise we are doomed to repeat this master/slave system we have today.

  5. Cr,

    Exactly.

To sum up society we can use the ignorance, acceptance and non desire to change this madness we live in. Back in '90 I worked as a doorman in bars and nightclubs. I was paid £12.50ph cash in hand. Now doorman work for a maximum £10ph, most around £8, need a license to work which automatically means they must pay tax and are chased to prove their income if not paying tax.
So, as society's standard of living drops, the cost of living continues to rise and the majority of people's income does not equate to the rise in cost, that is unless you're public sector.

When you look at the situation it's nothing but complete and utter f*cking madness. In 1990 I could buy about 11 pints of alcohol/7 packets of fags/half my weeks rent in one hours work.
Today I could buy 3 pints of alcohol/ 1.8 packets of fags/ and 1/12th of my rent!
What the f*ck is going on? Do people not see what's happened?

As Carlin stated in the video I gave the link to:

"They don't want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don't want well informed, well educated people capable of critical thinking....they don't want people who are smart enough to sit around the kitchen table and figure out how badly they're getting f*cked by a system that threw them overboard thirty f*cking years ago. They don't want that. You know what they want? They want OBEDIENT workers - people who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork and just dumb enough to passively accept all these increasingly shitier jobs with the lower pay, the longer hours, the reduced benefits, the end of overtime and the vanishing pension that disappears the moment you go to collect it and now they're coming for your social security money. They want your retirement money. They want it back"

This is our society. People have been brainwashed, while their lives have got worse, their income lower and their common sense almost depleted with zero critical thinking ability.

Welcome to the west 2010 - a society full of mindless, controlled automatons that enjoy getting shit on by their masters, whom they continue to elect and put into positions of power! Oh the f*cking irony....

  6. I thoroughly enjoy Molyneux's videos, they are worth taking the time to watch and I would recommend them to anyone who wants to know how the REAL world works :)
